SAP EPM Add-In: Excel ribbon becomes unresponsive after (second) refresh

Dear all,

I request for your help/hints on a problem with the SAP EPM Add-In for a SAP BPC 10.0 NW Version.

The problem:

After opening a schedule, the schedule refreshes on opening (EPM - Sheet Options\Refresh\Refresh the whole file when opening it). When after this refresh the user executes a manual refresh from the EPM Add-In the Excel ribbon including the EPM Add-In becomes unresponsive.

The user is still able to open the several menus but the items in a menu are not responding. For instance going to View\Freeze Panes the 3 freeze Options are visible but no longer functioning. The items are not greyed out.

The user has to Close his Excel and logon again in order to continue.

There is no error message and it happens with all schedules.

My question:

Does anyone have had the same issue and if so, how where you able to solve it?

The situation:

- Effected users: all

- SAP EPM Client Version: 10.0 SP 20 Patch 1 .Net 4

- SAP Analysis for Office Version: 1.4.11.3353.0

- SAP BPC Version: 10.0 NW on BW 730

- MS Office Version: 2013 Pro 32 bit

- Windows: 7 Enterprise SP1

- Security Update MS Office Version: KB2910941

- Happens to all existing schedules (which were running before any problem)

- No VBA applied in the schedules

- Client Organisation: SAP EPM on Laptop and SAP EPM on RDP

Was has been done done sofar:

- Reproduced the problem multiple times with a exisiting schedule on one of the Laptops. The schedule was running before (a couple of weeks ago) without any problem.

--> What changes/items could be relevant to investigate?

- Unable to reproduce the problem on RDP but the day before the problem also happened there also with a existing schedule.

--> What changes/items could be relevant to investigate?

- Unable to reproduce the problem with a just newly created schedule using a Laptop for testing.

--> Possible is it not one problem but more. How to investigate this?

- Installed Security Update MS Office: KB2920754

- Deinstalled SAP Analysis for Office because it looked that the issue popped up after the Installation of this Software.

- Installed SAP EPM 10.0 SP 20 Patch 2 .Net 4.

No of these Actions resolved the problem. I am stuck and hope one of you have an hint to investigate the problem further.

Kind regards,

Johan van Gerwen
