Hello All,
I need to implement a system to stop the goods in guy from booking in the goods with the incorrect price:
Currently at the moment, my purchaser places a purchase order for 1000 of x product... in the packaging industry it is industry standard that we must accept between 10% under and 10% over what we ordered.. so in this case 900 - 1100.
Now the issue is when we get overs, they are always being booked in incorrectly. The reason is the following: Goods in guy copies from PO to GRPO, this copies all lines from PO to the GRPO... he then adds a each line for the extra 100 that turned up. When he writes this line of each's into the GRPO a massive price comes in and he just isn't noticing it.
I understand that it is the price list that directly affects this. So i thought to myself: If I use taskcentre to write the correct price of the purchase order into the price list (So if I purchased 100 products at £0.20 each product, £0.20 would write itself into the price list) so when he adds each;s it brings through the correct price.
But this won't work because we do forward ordering, so for instance we order some tape from greece, lets say we paid £0.10 a roll today, but next week we get given the price of £0.11, the price list would get over written, the "over what we ordered" lines of stock would be booked in as £0.11 instead of £0.10
So i started thinking about literally linking up the PO and the GRPO, having a formatted search or a b1up validation configuration or a line loop to go down and check the prices from what the PO prices are. But I just have no idea how to do this, or what the query would be? Could someone help me on this?
cheers
Jamie
